(Fond du Lac) An armed robbery was reported in downtown Columbus on Saturday. Columbus Police Lieutenant Dennis Weiner says the investigation shows that the incident happened during a drug sale that was taking place in a vehicle around 9:40pm. Weiner says two of the three occupants of the vehicle displayed handguns to the drug dealer. The suspects in the vehicle demanded the drugs, then told the drug dealer to get out of the vehicle before they fled the scene. The vehicle was stopped a short time later by Beaver Dam Police. An 18-year-old Horicon man, and a 17-year-old from Beaver Dam, were taken into custody and transported to the Columbia County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery. The third passenger, a 16-year-old male from Beaver Dam, was taken into custody and transported to secure juvenile detention in Washington County, also for Armed Robbery. The 18-year-old Columbus man who was allegedly selling the drugs was arrested on the charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and taken to jail. Additional charges are likely.
