(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in Dodge County this year are off to a sluggish start. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, sales were down nearly 12-percent last month when compared to January of 2017 with 290 sold, 38 less than last year. Truck sales in Dodge County were down nine-percent with 257 sold while cars were 30-percent lower with 33 sold. Columbia County fared better with 252 cars and light trucks sold last month, a 22-percent increase from last January. Jefferson County saw 21-percent more vehicles roll off dealer lots last month with 242 sold compared to just 200 the year prior. For the nine-county, south central Wisconsin region as a whole, vehicle sales were up slightly at six-tenths of one-percent with 3817 sold, 22 more than the previous January. Regional truck sales were up nine-percent to 2959 while car sales declined by over 20-percent to 858.
