(Juneau) The public has an opportunity to get an inside look at local law enforcement. The Dodge County Sheriff Office is holding its fourth annual Citizen Academy this fall. A number of topics are covered in the 16-week course including: OWI enforcement, crash investigation, criminal investigation, and firearm’s training. Detective Michael Willmann, who organizes the academy, says the program is meant to give community members the opportunity to learn about the daily operations of the department while also providing an opportunity to meet and interact with the employees of the sheriff’s office. Classes run from 6pm to 9pm each Wednesday from September 12 through December 12. Applications are on the sheriff’s office website and the deadline is July 19. People must be 18 years or older and pass a background check.
Applications can be found on the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office website www.dodgecountysheriff.com or more information on the program can be obtained by contacting Detective Willmann at [email protected]
