Dodge County Law Enforcement Remembers Fallen

(Juneau) Local police officers gathered at the county Administration building in Juneau Wednesday for the annual Dodge County Executive Law Enforcement Memorial Service. The ceremony pays tribute to the officers who have lost their lives in or are from Dodge County. Pastor Brent Matzen from the Trinity Church in Waupun provided a prayer for the officers in attendance thanking them for their service and dedication to keeping the community safe. Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Jon Litscher was the keynote speaker this year. Litscher says his heart goes out towards those in law enforcement and he applauds those who work in corrections. Litscher, who at one time had served as the interim superintendent at the Cambria-Friesland School District and the Beaver Dam common council president, oversees more than 10-thousand employees which includes 36 adult correctional facilities and 110 probation and parole units. He says the falling officers will never be far from our thoughts. Twelve officers, dating back to 1880’s, were honored at the ceremony.
