Dodge County Clerk Reminds Voters To Register Early For Midterms

(Juneau) Dodge County residents who have not registered to vote are encouraged to do so prior to Election Day. While Wisconsin does allow for same day registration, County Clerk Karen Gibson says registering ahead of time makes it easier for poll workers on what is typically a hectic day. To register, Gibson encourages people to visit myvote.wi.gov. She says a person must complete the proper form, print off that document, and submit the completed form along with a proof of residence to their municipal clerk, either via mail or in person.  Gibson says the document showing proof of residence must contain the person’s first name, last name, and current address, such as a state-issued driver’s license or identification card, property tax bill, utility bill, bank statement, or paycheck. She says the last day to mail in a person’s information to their municipal clerk is October 17. Election Day is November 6, and polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm.
