(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Highway Safety Commissions is reminding Super Bowl fans about the hazards of drinking and driving. Commission Coordinator Joel Kiesow says if you plan to drink, make a game plan. Before leaving for a Super Bowl party, find someone who will be the designated driver. Check that they are sober before riding with them and make sure you and the driver wear a seat belt. In a scenario where you or the driver is too drunk to drive, ask if you can stay the night instead. If you plan on driving, do not drink. Rather enjoy the food and non-alcoholic beverages. Kiesow says the consequences of drunk driving are not often fatal but they can be expensive. Drunk drivers face jail time, loss of their driver licenses, higher insurance rates, and many other unanticipated expenses.
