Dementia Concerns Coalition Walk In Beaver Dam Saturday

(Beaver Dam) The Dementia Concerns Coalition of Dodge County is inviting the public to their 20th annual “Steppin’ Out for Dementia Awareness” walk on Saturday. The event raises funds that provide assistance to individuals with dementia and their families throughout Dodge County. Organizer Fawn Senn says in addition to the walk there will be other activities throughout the day including lunch, entertainment, raffles, door prizes and a dementia virtual tour which simulates what it is like for those who suffer from the disease. The walk has raised over $100-thousand dollars in the last ten years. Senn says the proceeds also help cover the costs for area resources and Project LifeSaver, which uses a GPS tracking system to help family members monitor loved ones with a tendency to wander. There is no cost to participate in the walk but Senn says donations are always welcomed. Registration begins at 8:30am tomorrow at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital with the walk getting underway at 10am. For more information call 920-296-3309.
