6/24/17 – The Dodge County Humane Society is inviting residents to check out their cats. June is the official adopt a cat month. Executive Director at the Humane Society Kenzie Drinkwine says cats are very seasonal and now is the time where they are getting kittens by the dozens. Drinkwine says when the cats do come in they go out to foster homes right away. She says this is done because their immune systems are not healthy enough to stay at the shelter and helps the cats get used to being handled by humans. Drinkwine says currently the shelter has close to 70 cats and can get up to 120 if not enough people come in to adopt. She says all cats aged eight and older have waived adoption fees.
