David I. Ryckman Jr.

David I. Ryckman Jr., 78, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Bay Harbor Assisted Living in Beaver Dam.

A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

David was born the son of David Sr. and Dorothy (Edwards) Ryckman in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Dave was a member of the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1961. He was united in marriage with Judith Ann Stephenson on October 24, 1959 in Tacoma, Washington. Dave was a truck driver who drove for Dakota Bake & Serve Co. and Krielkamp Trucking and was proud of his millions of miles of safe driving. He was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beaver Dam and strong in his faith. David had a passion for flying and was a private pilot for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking and playing cards, being a grandpa and loving his family.

He is survived by his wife; Judith Ryckman of Beaver Dam, children; David B. Ryckman of WA and 3 grandchildren, David, Katie and Chance; Mark Ryckman of WA; and Cathy (Marc) Schultz of Beaver Dam and 2 grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail; sister; Karen Willis of WA, and his dog companion; Olivia.

David was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ernest and James “Pat”, and his sister; Delores.
