Construction Affecting Tonight’s BDHS Football Game

8/18/17 – A reminder for those who plan on attending tonight’s Beaver Dam High School football teams season opener against Watertown: referendum construction is effecting both parking and entry to the field. The campus is seeing an upgrade that is part of the $49-million-dollar referendum approved by voters in November. The schools largest parking lot on the east side of the building near Moraine Park Technical College is not available. Asphalt was poured Monday for a parking lot on the northwest side of the school, off McKinley Street. The school district’s incoming Superintendent Mark DiStefano says the new lot is limited to senior citizens and people with special access needs. DiStefano is asking attendees to park on the street north of the high school off County Road E or south of the high school off Gould near the Family Center. Spectators will be able to enter in the same west gate they had always used off McKinley Street. The other entry gate can be accessed from the baseball parking lot path, north of the home bleachers behind the tennis courts. The gates open at 6pm for the Golden Beavers versus Goslings game with kickoff scheduled for 7pm. The former rivals in the Wisconsin Little Ten are both playing in their first Badger Conference events. Beaver Dam and Watertown are in opposite divisions of the Badger Conference, North and South respectively, and are officially playing a Badger Conference “crossover game.”
