Congressman Grothman Says Public Needs To Demand Border Security

(Beaver Dam) While the government shutdown continues, we spoke Wednesday with Congressman Glenn Grothman who says the public needs to step forward and demand border security which means a wall. He says other big-time democratic senators including Chuck Schumer, Hilary Clinton and Joe Biden were voting for a border wall just ten years ago. Meanwhile, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin says the president is pitching a “temper tantrum” over his demand for a border wall. Soglin says he’s personally opposed to the idea, but that’s not the issue and points to jeopardizing the well-being of tens and thousands of families across the nation. Soglin says the city will start planning early next month on how to assist families that rely on federal assistance programs, and that the city should be able provide assistance at least through mid-summer.
