Columbus School Board Adopts 2017-18 Budget

10/26/17 – The Columbus School Board this week adopted the district’s budget for the current school year.  The $14.5-million operations budget includes a tax levy of $6.9-million dollars.  The mill rate is $9.46 per thousand dollars of assessed value, which is 42-cents below last year’s mill rate of $9.88 per thousand but 12-cents higher than the preliminary budget approved in September. Columbus Superintendent Annette Deuman tells us the numbers were more favorable than the budget adopted last month because of increased state aid and higher than anticipated property values.
