Colorado Woman Accused Of Mailing Drugs To Fox Lake Correctional

(Fox Lake) An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Colorado woman accused of mailing illegal drugs to an inmate at Fox Lake Correctional. Kerri Sawyer was supposed to make her initial appearance on one felony charge of Deliver Illegal Articles to an Inmate. While searching the prisoner’s mail earlier this month, a guard found several strips of the drug Suboxone that were hidden inside a card. Investigators were allegedly able to trace the postmarks origin back to Sawyer. They also uncovered phone conservations between Sawyer and the inmate that reportedly discussed how to mail the drug into the facility. If convicted, the 39-year-old faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison.
