(Cambria-Friesland)  A senior from Cambria-Friesland High School is being nationally recognized for her exceptional academic prowess.  Chloe DeYoung has been named a Commended Student in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.  Utilizing the SAT/National Merit Scholarship test, the top students throughout the nation are recognized for their accomplishments, and academic potential.  This year 1.6 million students took the SAT/National Merit Scholarship test with only 34,000 being recognized within the NMSP.  This represents only the top 3.5% of all students who participated.  A spokesperson for the NMSC says “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
