Charles “Chuck” Hankes

Charles Norbert Michael “Chuck” Hankes passed away peacefully with family by his side, on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 59.

 

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Francis Charles Hankes and infant brother, Lawrence Hankes.

 

He is survived by his mother, Henrietta Hankes: brothers, Stephan (Mary) Hankes and Gregory (Mary) Hankes; sister, Cheryl (Joseph) Condon; many nieces and nephews to include Tim, Kevin, Kyle, Kayla, Jacob, Mary, Anna, Bill Maggie and Grace; other relatives and friends.

 

Chuck was a person who always put others first. He lived life for the day and had a wonderful sense of humor. Chuck was a volunteer firefighter and was always there to help others. He enjoyed a good craft beer, exploring family ancestry, cooking and crossword puzzles. Chuck will be missed by all.

 

The memorial gathering for Chuck will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Thursday, April 25, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be at Church on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Justin Lopina officiating. A luncheon will follow the Mass, at church.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton for their outstanding care and also Fr. Justin Lopina and the staff at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon for their assistance.

 

Memorials may be made in Charles Hankes’ name to the Beaver Dam Fire Department towards a heart defibrillator.
