Central Wisconsin Christian Receives School Safety Grant

(Waupun) Central Wisconsin Christian was awarded funds from the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Initiative Grant. The school will receive an amount just shy of $20-thousand dollars to support projects targeting improved safety in K-through-12 schools throughout the state. Central Wisconsin Christian will use the money to rework their student entry points, provide in-service training for staff, installing infrastructure for a camera surveillance system and enhancing classroom security. Administrator Mark Buteyn says that he is pleased with this opportunity to continue to make CWC a safe environment for students and their families. He adds that through their annual review with the Waupun Police Department of their emergency planning security assessments, they are always looking for enhancements and adjustments that can provide assurance and comfort to families. Work is scheduled to begin soon on the first phase of security upgrades, with completion prior to the first day of school in August.
