Cash Bond For Ware Increased Following Homicide Charge

2/1/17 – A Fox Lake man accused of murdering his girlfriend had his cash bond increased yesterday. Laverne Ware Jr had been free after posting a $200-thousand-dollar cash bond in mid-December, in the days after he was charged with felony Hiding a Corpse in connection with the killing of his girlfriend Sesalie Dixon. On January 20, Ware was formally charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide, along with two felony counts of Possessing a Firearm as a Convicted Felon and Incest and prosecutors say the victim was Ware’s first cousin. At a motion hearing for bond modification in Dodge County court yesterday, Judge Steven Bauer increased Ware’s cash bond from $200-thousand dollars to $2.5-million dollars. On December 4, the 27-year-old Dixon was found in the cab of Ware’s pick-up truck inside a garage with a gunshot wound to the head. Two others are charged with Aiding a Felon in connection with Dixon’s death.  Ware’s mother Marjorie Jones will be arraigned next week while Jones’ boyfriend Vernon Mickey has a preliminary hearing tomorrow.
