Cash Bond Set At $50K For Tenth OWI

(Green Lake County) Cash bond was set at $50-thousand dollars Monday in Green Lake County court for a Princeton man facing charges of tenth offense Operating While Intoxicated. Jeremy Kirst is also charged with felony Fleeing an Officer and Burglary along with a handful of misdemeanors including Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, Taking a Vehicle Without Consent and Obstruction. Kirst was stopped by deputies last Thursday morning on State Highway 23 in the Town of Brooklyn. While making contact with the suspect, he fled at speeds near 85-miles-per-hour through farm fields and marshland before striking an embankment and flipping over, end-over-end into a ditch. Kirst and his dog allegedly fled on foot into a marsh. A perimeter was established and a police dog from Waupun was deployed. Kirst was tracked to a local excavating company where he apparently stole a vehicle. Authorities say evidence led them to a residence south of Princeton and then to another residence in Waushara County, where Kirst was apprehended a short time later. The 40-year-old Kirst has a status conference on the calendar next month.
