(Horicon) The public is welcomed to attend to candlelight hike at the Horicon Marsh Saturday. The Friends of Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center will line the trials with candle-powered luminaries to guide walkers. Two trails will be open to the public. One clocks in at one-and-a-half miles and another, “family loop,” is only .36 miles. Volunteers will be on hand for assistance and information. Organizers will also be on the trail conducting short owl talks and calling for owls. Afterwards, attendees can roast their own marshmallows or grab a hot chocolate in the picnic shelter. Other activities such as a 20-minute video on the Horicon Marsh and telescopes to view the night sky will also be available. Admission is free but parking will be limited. The candlelight hike will begin at 5pm and end around 9pm. The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located on Highway 28.
