Cambria Man Charged With Oak Grove Residential Burglary

(Oak Grove) Cash Bond was set at $25,000 dollars Monday for a Cambria man accused of burglarizing a home in Oak Grove. Antonio Gamez is facing one felony count of Burglary and felony Bail Jumping. On Saturday, Dodge County deputies were dispatched to a residence on North Grove Road after the property owner reported an intruder. She told authorities that the individual ran from the home when she confronted him and was wearing khaki shorts, a tank top and a blue bandana around his mouth. She reported missing a GPS, loose change and her son’s class ring. A short while later, deputies were informed of a vehicle accident on North Grove Road south of State Highway 33 and that the driver of the vehicle matched the description of the burglar. According to the criminal complaint, Gamez was at first uncooperative and told law enforcement that he did not want to be shot, Tased or pepper sprayed. After taking Gamez into custody, a search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a GPS device that had the same serial number of the one that was reported stolen. If convicted, the 31-year-old faces no more than 21 years in prison. A judge will decide next week if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
