(Beaver Dam) An annual winter event returns to Beaver Dam today. Cabin Fever Fest is being held at Crystal Lake Park. In the past, the program was held over a two-day period but organizers packed everything into one day of fun this year as it had been when the event first started. Dogs are welcomed at Crystal Lake Park today and today only. There will also be a dog obstacle course from noon until 2pm. The Beaver Dam Community Library will be helping kids make pine cone bird feeders. Boy Scout Troop 724 spent the night camping at Crystal Lake and will be offering Dutch Over Cooking Demonstrations. The mayor will be making s’mores and chatting with those in attendance beginning at 2pm. The Antique Power Club will offer educational wagon rides throughout the park. Activities Specialist Joan Hohenstein with the Beaver Dam Community Activities and Services Department says the popular snowball drop will be taking place again today. She says the chili cookoff will again offer cash prizes in three categories: pro, amateur, and plant/slant category sponsored by the Dodge County Blue Zones Project. It’s a warm one today so winter weather activities like sledding and ice skating will not be available. Anyone interested in learning more about Cabin Fever Fest is encouraged to visit the Community Activities and Services Department page on the City of Beaver Dam website at www.cityofbeaverdam.com or on Facebook.
