8/17/17 – There is a new Dodge County Fairest of the Fair. Alicia Burnett of Beaver Dam was crowned last night. Burnett replaces 2016 Fairest Anna Boschert. The two were Sigma Alpha sorority sisters at UW-Platteville along with 2015 Fairest of the Fair Karoline Twardokus. The 20-year-old Burnett is studying Agricultural Education and Technology Education at Platteville, with aspirations of being a high school agriculture education. The runner up this year was Ronna Woock of Burnett. It’s the second day of the Dodge County Fair. At Radio Park, its Senior Citizen’s Day with free bingo. The Loco Vocals will be performing starting at 1pm. At 5pm, the Barn Show will be live from Radio Park with Barn Show Bingo. At 7pm, area youth will show and sell their top animals at the Meat Animal Sale in the Farm Progress Arena. Live coverage of the sale will be broadcast on 95.3 WXRO. On the grandstand stage tonight is classic country act The Oak Ridge Boys beginning at 8pm and following their performance it’ll be the Mad Polecats on the Radio Park Stage. The admission prices are the same as last year: $7 to get in before 2pm and $10 after. Kids age 9 and under are free. There is no additional charge for the grandstand acts or parking.
