(Beaver Dam) The ribbon was cut yesterday Monday on the newest fast-food restaurant chain in Beaver Dam. Burger King is located on the northside of the city on Frances Lane next door to Arby’s. Mike Goldade is the Director of Operations for Cave Enterprises Operations of Chicago, which has 129 Burger King stores in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and South Dakota. Goldade tells DailyDodge.com that Cave Enterptises is a growing acquisition company that is planning to open several Burger Kings over the next five years. “You’ll see a lot more of us popping up on the landscape,” he says. That includes another Burger King in northeastern Dodge County in the next year. The 3200-square-foot restaurant in Beaver Dam has seating for 64 people and employs 10 full-time managers and other 35 “team members.” Some of those employees were trained in the past week while others have come from Cave Enterprise Burger King locations in Columbus, Slinger and Oshkosh. The restaurant was supposed to open around Halloween, but rainy weather delayed the opening. The first burger was served to the mayor shortly after the ribbon was cut around 9:30am Monday but as of Tuesday the restaurant will be open for breakfast at 6am. Beaver Dam has not had a Burger King for around 15 years.
