2/10/17 – A state representative from Beaver Dam will help shape future state budgets as a part of the Joint Finance Committee. Mark Born was appointed for the first time to the committee which is combined of assembly and senate members who are tasked with, among other things, crafting the next state budget. Recently voted to a third term in the legislature, Born says that it has already been a busy seven-to-eight weeks since the appointment has been made. The 16-member committee consists of eight senators and eight representatives of which four are democrats including two from each chamber. Born told us recently on WBEV’s Community Comment that he plans to build off of the reforms that make Wisconsin a better place to do business and provide opportunities for success. With two state budget processes under his belt, Born says he will draw off of those experiences when it comes to serving on joint finance.
