Beaver Dam Woman Convicted Of Heroin Possession

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman will spend 18 months on probation for possessing illegal drugs. Tracy Riel pled guilty Thursday to felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs as well as one misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Riel entered into a deferred prosecution agreement, which means she will avoid a felony record if she stays out of trouble while on probation. In July, Beaver Dam police officers were dispatched to a report of a car accident in the parking lot of Meadowview Apartments. A witness saw Riel hit a parked vehicle then stumble around before heading into the building. In talking with investigators, they noticed Riel’s eyes were blood shot and her speech was slurred. When conducting a body search, police found a small bag containing a rock like substance that tested positive for heroin. The 38-year-old contended that she had not been drinking alcohol or taking any controlled substances prior to the crash.
