Beaver Dam Woman Arrested At Gun Point Following Chase

12/22/17 – A Beaver Dam woman is accused of running from police early Thursday morning. Kimberly Stevens is charged with felony Fleeing and Eluding a Traffic Officer along with misdemeanor Resisting an Officer and marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. Police were dispatched to the Pizza Hut on Industrial Drive around 1am. A woman reported that Stevens was harassing her sister for money, saying she would rob the store if she did not get it. The victim believes Stevens wanted the money for drugs but Stevens says she wanted it to go shopping. Stevens has a suspended license and when the police officer asked how she got to the store, the suspect put the vehicle in drive and sped away. A chase ensued down Highway 151 reaching speeds of 85-miles-per-hour before she exited at Highway 33 and ended the pursuit near Walker’s Restaurant. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and Stevens was arrested at gunpoint. She reportedly struggled with the officer as he restrained her. A crack pipe was found in her vehicle and marijuana was in her jacket was she was searched at the jail. If convicted, Stevens faces up to five years in prison. Cash bond was set at $500 yesterday and a judge will decide next month if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
