Beaver Dam School Teacher Wins Grammy Trip On Ellen

(Beaver Dam) A teacher at Prairie View Elementary School in Beaver Dam is going to the Grammy Awards this weekend after winning two tickets on a daytime talk show.  Gerryanne Schwanke and her sister-in-law Kristen Schwanke were in Los Angeles for Monday’s taping of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Tuesday. The two competed for the Grammy tickets against another couple in a game called “Blame That Tune.” Gerryanne had to wear headphones and a plastic brace-like device was inserted in her mouth that prevented her from moving her lips. She then had to sing four songs to her sister-in-law who had to guess each song. Gerryanne sang the songs “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Baby,” “Havana,” and “Milkshake.”  In addition to tickets, Ellen provided Gerryanne and Kristen with roundtrip airfare, and hotel accommodations. Beaver Dam School’s Superintendent Mark DiStefano says anyone who has worked with Gerryanne knows that she is intelligent and talented but he says her performance on Ellen shined a whole new light. The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will be aired this Sunday on CBS beginning at 6:30pm.
