Beaver Dam Police Ask Motorists To Be Mindful Of Pedestrians At Crosswalks

(Beaver Dam) As the weather continues to get nicer and we move from spring into summer, the Beaver Dam Police Department is reminding motorists that the number of pedestrians and bicyclists is on the rise. Deputy Chief Dan Schubert encourages the public to do the safe thing and yield right of way to pedestrians and bicyclists crossing at intersections and approved road crossing locations. The department received a complaint from a woman who was pushing her granddaughter in a stroller at the intersection of DeClark and North Spring streets and noted that drivers do not typically yield to pedestrians at that intersection. Schubert says not only is it the courteous thing to do, it’s the law.
