Beaver Dam Committee Approves Building Repair For Mural Placement

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Operations Committee Monday night approved an $18-thousand-dollar expenditure to make repairs to the surface on the north facing of Fast Eddie’s Bicycle Emporium. The building at 108 South Center Street is the planned location for one of the murals that was painted last summer in the downtown. The mural, which highlights local veterans, was painted on a panel but could not be hung because of damage to the decorative exterior of the building, so-called EIFS. The EIFS was erected following the floods of 2008 when the adjoining buildings was torn down. The city had purchased the neighboring building and because there was no space between the structures, the city has retained ownership of just the wall. Once the wall is repaired, the mural will be hung
