Beaver Dam Man Convicted For Drug-Fueled Crime Spree

7/27/17 – A Beaver Dam man was convicted yesterday in connection with a drug-fueled crime spree. Douglas Rinden pled no contest to two counts each of felony Burglary and Bail Jumping and had ten other charges dismissed but read into the record. Prosecutors say the 30-year-old stole electronics and other items from several Beaver Dam residences in February of 2016 to support his drug addiction. Rinden also tried to break into the apartment of his child’s mother after she kicked him out and then he threatened to harm both her and himself.  Officers recovered some of the stolen items from storage units in Rinden’s apartment complex.  A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and a hearing is scheduled in October.
