Beaver Dam Lake Days Underway

7/7/17 – There is a full calendar of activities on tap today at Beaver Dam Lake Days. The three-day festival on the shores of Beaver Dam Lake at Tahoe Park kicked-off with their traditional Teen Dance yesterday. This year’s event features live music from local and national touring acts along with two nights of fireworks tonight and tomorrow, kid’s activities, food, refreshments and a carnival midway. Organizer Doug Sackett says that the carnival rides are all free, included in the eight-dollar ($8) entry fee for those age five and older. Sackett says they received very positive feedback last year, the first year the approach was attempted. He says a Facebook post from one family indicated that their kids rode $1000 worth of rides for around $20. Today, there will be a carboard boat regatta race. The public is invited to sign-up for the race beginning at 5pm with boat building taking place between 5:30pm and 7pm, when the race begins. Bill Boettge with the Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association says the cardboard and duck tape will be provided, participants just need to bring their ingenuity. For the first time this year there will be two stages and Sackett says as a result there will be no gaps in live music. On the stage at Lake Days today: Rebel Reign, Gypsy Road, Teeze, Budderside and headliner L.A. Guns. Fireworks both nights are scheduled from 10:10pm to 10:30pm.
