Beaver Dam Holiday Parade Entries Sought

10/2/17 – Those interested in participating in the 26th annual Holiday Parade in Beaver Dam can start signing up. The theme this year is “Light Up the Holidays.” The parade will be held in the downtown area on Saturday, December 2 at 5:30pm. Organizer Kay Appenfeldt explains how the floats will be judged. She says it is not by who uses the most light but rather who uses the lights most creatively. A panel judges decides who has the best flight in front of McKinstry’s. Winners will receive prizes ranging from $15 dollars to $75 dollars and a plaque designed by the senior center woodshop will be awarded. Event planner Betty Reals says the senior center woodshop will also be honored as this year’s Grand Marshall. She says they have done great work over the years making wooden cars to hand out to kids and creating the winner plaques. Also included in the holiday festivities will be a Business Decorating Contest which asks for light displays in store front windows. Entry forms are available at the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce office and online at the Downtown Beaver Dam website. A link can be found here: www.bddowntown.com.
