Beaver Dam High School Grad Signs With Dallas Cowboys

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam High School graduate has been signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. Bryce Johnson received word of the signing Saturday night.

The offensive lineman from St. Cloud State was given a guaranteed spot on the 90-man roster. Johnson tells DailyDodge.com that he knew quite a few teams were interested but he was surprised at how quick the offer came. He was hoping for an offer within a couple hours of the draft ending but the last pick was just barely in when his phone rang. Johnson credited his hometown of Beaver Dam for laying the groundwork for an amazing opportunity. He noted the talent on his high school team, graduating alongside Michigan State standout RJ Shelton. “We all pushed each other,” Johnson says.

The 6’6″, 321 pound lineman was a Second Team All-NSIC (Nothern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) selection during his collegiate career at St. Cloud University. The 2013 Beaver Dam graduate was a two-time All-Conference player in high school and also lettered in basketball.
