(Beaver Dam) Parking may be tricky for those planning to attend the first public event inside the Beaver Dam High School’s new fieldhouse tonight. The athletic facility with five, full-sized basketball courts is considered to be among the biggest of its kind in the state. The Golden Beaver girls varsity and junior varsity basketball teams are on the hardwood. Parking is still limited as work continues on the overhaul of the high school funded by a referendum approved by voters in the fall of 2016. Superintendent Mark DiStefano says parking is available tonight in the lot near the new main entrance and on the street. Those hoping to park in the city-owned parking lot in front of the Family Center will have to compete with hockey games. Even with all of the excitement and activities, DiStefano does not expect a sell-out tonight, even with the temporary occupancy rate set by the fire department of 2000 people. Final capacity after completion is expected to be around 3500. Tickets are available at the door. Entry to the fieldhouse is through the west doors of the new main entrance off Gould Street. The JV game starts at 5:45pm while the varsity game begins at 7:15pm. You’ll be able to listen to the varsity game on 95.3 WXRO, stream it at DailyDodge.com or watch it live on our Facebook page.
