Beaver Dam Fall Downtown Fest Set For Last Weekend In October

(Beaver Dam) A fall celebration will be held in Beaver Dam next weekend. Fall Downtown Fest, hosted by Downtown Beaver Dam Inc., will include a scavenger hunt, various kids’ activities at Rogers Cinema as well as a mural walking tour. A pumpkin carving contest open for all ages will get underway on October 24th. Contestants have until the 26th to carve their best jack-o’-lantern before a community vote takes place during the fall festival on October 27. There will also be a medallion hunt with clues posted each day starting today on the Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. Facebook page. The winner will receive $250 in cash. Organizer Tekla Wlodarczyk Nunez says the event is aimed at bringing life to the downtown much like the Mural Festival did. She says they are trying to regenerate that same type of community spirit with the fall festival.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the downtown American Bank location for the Fall Fest Breakfast. Alyssa Bowe is with American Bank, she says there will be hot beverages, pumpkin donuts and a caramel apple bar. She says it will also be a good opportunity to visit the recently opened American Bank Park. All proceeds from the breakfast go towards Bridges of Dodge County which is a non-profit substance abuse program. Fall Downtown Fest will begin at 9am on October 27 and wrap up at around 1pm. The winners of the pumpkin carving contest will be announced at American Bank at 12:30pm. More information is available at www.bddowntown.com.
