(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Public Works Garage will be open on Saturday’s again starting tomorrow (Saturday). The Yard Waste Drop-Off site at 640 South Center Street will be open on Saturday’s from 10am until 2pm. That is in addition to regular weekday hours of 7am until 3:30pm. No waste of any kind will be accepted from contractors or non-city residents. DPW Supervisor Dan Mulhern says attendants may ask for proof of residency if they suspect waste is being brought in from outside of the city of Beaver Dam. Township waste is not accepted. The DPW accepts grass clippings, leaves, garden vines, flowers, straw, hay, pine needles, brush and tree limbs seven inches or less in thickness and hedge or shrubbery cuttings. No fruits, vegetables, garbage or building materials will be accepted. Appropriate signs are posted to assist residents as to where to deposit these approved yard waste materials, as well as waste engine oil and certain acceptable rough metals, which are also accepted from city residents only. The Beaver Dam DPW will be open on Saturday’s through late autumn.
