Beaver Dam CROP Walk Is Sunday

(Beaver Dam) Several churches in Beaver Dam are joining forces to fight hunger. The CROP Walk is a fundraiser with the goal of feeding hungry people in Beaver Dam and around the world. The walk itself is meant to simulate the hardships of walking to get water. Organizer Barb Kalscheur says the Crop Walk helps develop nourishment education for young families as well as helps in disaster and war torn areas. The event will take walkers from St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center on a loop of the downtown Beaver Dam area, before returning them back to the parish center. Proceeds go towards the Beaver Dam Community Food Pantry and the Dodge County Food Pantry. Stephanie Kong with the Beaver Dam Community Food Pantry says they are always in need of supplies. The Dodge County Blue Zones will also be sponsoring a water station along the walking route. Those looking to support the event can donate to a registered walker or register themselves to raise donations for the cause. Registration starts at 1pm and the walk begins at 2pm on Sunday (October 14). Those looking to walk or contribute can contact Walk Committee Publicity and Online Promotion Leader Heidi Muenchow at 920-485-1166 or via email at heidi@firstluthbd.org
