(Wisconsin) A local Beaver Dam construction company was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, alongside five other Wisconsin companies, to be the recipient of a 2018 Excellence in Construction Award. Announced during the annual Contractor-Engineer Conference in Middleton, Ptaschinski Construction Inc of Beaver Dam was recognized for Excellence in Concrete Paving for work on WIS 67 and WIS 28, Main St and Horicon Street, in the city of Mayville. The project included urbanized areas with the need to coordinate sanitary and water main replacement. Ptaschinski Construction inc was recognized for being flexible with planning and equipment – well beyond the requirements of the contract – to help minimize closures and disruptions in town, and to help keep the project moving on time.
Director of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Project Development, Beth Cannestra, spoke at the awards saying, “Wisconsin is fortunate to have so many talented private contractors whose skill and experience help to overcome challenges in the field to deliver vital transportation improvements throughout the state.” She continued to say that the Excellence in Construction Awards are an opportunity for the department to applaud the quality of work private contractors provide and reflect on best practices moving forward. Alongside Ptaschinski Construction, awards were received by Musson Brothers inc of Rhinelander, Northeast Asphalt inc of Green Bay, Kraemer North America of Plain, Zenith Tech inc of Waukesha and Walsh Construction co. from Milwaukee.
