(Beaver Dam) Tickets are available for an upcoming banquet that honors members of the local community. The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner will be held January 25 at the Beaver Dam Country Club. Three of the four award winners have been announced. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, the Chamber’s Executive Director Phil Fritsche said Citizen of the Year Bev Beal-Loeck is a longtime member of the Beaver Dam Unified School Board and has also volunteered, and currently works for, Church Health Services, which is a nonprofit that provides a variety of medical and dental services to people in need. Northwood Paper Converting is this year’s Business of the Year. Fritsche says it is a homegrown success story that now has over 180 employees in two locations, the other being in Pennsylvania. He says the business converts large rolls of paper from the mill into an end product of various sizes for purposes such as billboards. The Organization of the Year is Green Valley Enterprises, which Fritsche says has been in Beaver Dam for over 40 years. He says the group serves people with disabilities of all ages by helping them find work and offering therapy. The fourth award, Volunteer of the Year, will be announced at the banquet.
