Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Needs Help Naming Second Floor Of New Building

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre is taking suggestions from the public on what to name the second floor of their new building. The $3-million-dollar Fine Arts Center at 117 West Maple Avenue will be opening at the end of the year. The first floor of the 24-thousand square foot facility will include a 340-seat auditorium but up to another 100 seats will be available in the multi-purpose space on the second floor. Managing Director David Saniter says the second floor will be a flexible space with various staging and viewing configurations including theater in the round.  When a performance is not happening, the staging and seating can be removed for an open rehearsal or class space.  Tables and chairs can be set up for meetings, afterglows and various other events.  There are a lot of possibilities for the second floor but first, Saniter says, it needs a name. He says the person whose entry is chosen by the name selection committee will receive a gift certificate for two tickets at one of the theatre’s main stage events.  Saniter adds that you also get to brag to all your friends and family that you named a major area within the Fine Arts Center. Entries are due by October 26. Contact information can be found with this news story at DailyDodge.com. The theatre, meanwhile, will be officially opening on December 29 with an open house. On New Year’s Eve, the Loco Vocals will be the first performance in the new space.
