Beaver Dam Area Arts Association Has New Home

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Arts Association has a new permanent home. Last June, the organization left their longtime location at the Seippel Homestead on North Spring Street and temporarily moved to Rasske’s Appliances on South Spring Street. Board Secretary Kraig Kasten says the former Bank Mutual building at Maple Avenue and North Center Streets was donated to the non-profit by Dennis Giese and Karen Tomko. Kasten says Giese approached Beaver Dam Chamber Phil Fritsche explaining that he recently acquired the building and wanted to do something good with it. Fritsche recommended the Arts Association. Kasten says the location will allow the Arts Association to collaborate with downtown assets like the neighboring Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre’s Fine Arts Center and nearby schools, perhaps expanding youth offerings or after-school activities. While there will be no rent to pay, the arts group will be responsible for property taxes and maintenance. The plan is to close on the building in by the end of this month and move-in next month.
