(Beaver Dam) We recently had the opportunity on WBEV’s Community Comment to sit down with a Beaver Dam man who was inducted into the 2018 Wisconsin FFA Hall of Fame. David Laatsch taught agricultural at the Beaver Dam High School for 35 years. He says the Wisconsin FFA Hall of Fame was established in 1995 to recognize individuals who have played a role in the advancement of agricultural programs. He says it is an honor to be inducted with those played a role in founding agricultural in the state.
Laatsch also played a role in updating a statewide agricultural book titled ‘A History of Vocational Agriculture in Wisconsin.’ He says he worked to collect writings from groups and individuals who support the ag community and make them available in one source. The book can be downloaded for free here: http://waae.com/pages/historybook/
Laatsch also brought along a wide-variety of agricultural inspired items and memorabilia during his appearance on Community Comment:
