3/21/17 – The Beaver Dam Common Council last night signed-off on an increase in the rate for the storm water utility. The utility was established in 2009 as a taxing mechanism to fund construction and maintenance costs for the city’s storm sewers, piping and detention ponds along with leaf collection activities and all street sweeping. City Engineering Coordinator Ritchie Piltz says the rate will increase 32-percent, which translates to between three dollars and four dollars per quarter for an average residential customer. Commercial customers will see and average increase of $78 and industrial customers $489. The rate increase is effective April 1. The increase is the first for the Storm Water Utility since it was established in 2009.
