10/8/17 – A change in bicycle registration policy in Beaver Dam has been successful. That’s according to Police Chief John Kreuziger who first proposed the ordinance change that eliminated the $3 fee that had traditionally been required. Instead of enforcing the ordinance that requires bike licenses, officers hand out licenses for free. Kreuziger told the city’s Police and Fire Commission this week that school Liaison Officer Lisa Dake-Jones has done a great job registering bikes and the kids are eager to sign-up. The chief says next year he plans on applying for a grant to purchase bike locks for area kids.
