(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Fine Arts Center opens Saturday. Years in the making, the $3.5-million dollar, 24-thousand square foot facility will include a 340-seat auditorium. Jeff Rehberg is with the Grand Opening Committee, he says the public can stop by today to see the new building that is located on Maple Avenue. He says visitors will not only be able to tour areas like the auditorium and the lobby but also places that non-performers are typically not allowed. Rehberg says the event also serves as an opportunity to thank those who have contributed to the fundraising efforts. BDACT Managing Director David Saniter says if a person missing the grand opening they will have other chances to tour the facility. He says there will be box office hours on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s starting January 3rd were people can schedule a tour. The first performance in the new space will be a New Year’s Eve concert by the Local Vocals in the auditorium starting at 9pm. Tickets are available at www.BDACT.org.
