BDAAA Exhibit Should Attract Sewing Enthusiasts

5/4/17 – The Beaver Dam Area Arts Association’s new exhibit might have some pieces that would be of interest to those visiting the city as part of the sewing weekend. Text, Texture, and Textiles features the work 27 artists from throughout the region using a variety of media. Executive Director Jessalyn Braun says the theme of the exhibit is broad enough to highlight artists who may have been overlooked in the past because their work did not match the theme. Braun says there will be fiber sculptures and graphic designs, quilts, clothes, costumes, paintings and even concert posters. Another item in the exhibit is from Lois Levenhagen of Beaver Dam who every year sews a special coat for UW Band Director Mike Lekrone. Text, Texture, and Textiles runs until May 21 at the Beaver Dam Area Arts Association which is located in the Seippel Homestead and Center for the Arts on North Spring Street, right next door to Culvers.
