(Madison) The public is encouraged to head to Madison tonight to greet veterans returning from a day in Washington D.C. Once the flight lands, the veterans will spend the day touring various sites including Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Iwo Jima, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, and Air Force monuments. Organizer Jim Bublitz says anyone interested in welcoming back the veterans should take note of a slight change in the schedule. In the past the flights usually landed around 8:45pm but tonight’s plane will land around 7:15pm. Bublitz says today’s trip includes six veterans from World War II, 35 Korean veterans, two from Korea and 43 Vietnam vets. This is the first of five planned flights in 2019. The others are on May 18, September 7, October 5 and November 2. More information along with applications can be found at badgerhonorflight.org.
