Badger Honor Flight Returns

9/16/17 – The public is encouraged to head to Madison tonight to greet veterans returning from a day in Washington D.C. The nationwide program takes veterans to the nations capital at no cost to them to visit their memorials firsthand and give them the welcome home they may have never had. Half of the 88 veterans on board are from the Dodge County area. Jim Bublitz is with the Dodge County Wing of the Madison-based non-profit Badger Honor Flight in addition to the local contingent on today’s flight, there is another unique aspect to this trip. For the first time, three members of Badger Honor Flight will be participating in the laying of the wreath at Arlington Cemetery. Bublitz is one of the three selected for the laying of the wreath along with Badger Honor Flight Board President Brian Ziegler and volunteer Judy Hein of Beaver Dam. Bublitz encourages people to arrive at the Dane County Regional Airport around 8pm; the flight should land around 9:15pm. Badger Honor is one of 132 hubs in the United States.
