Authorities Identify Beaver Dam Police Officer Involved In Shooting

(Beaver Dam) Authorities have released the name of the law enforcement official in the officer-involved shooting that occurred late last month in the city of Beaver Dam. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Officer Brian Linzenmeyer reacted to a situation involving a firearm. Linzenmeyer, a 17-year veteran of the Beaver Dam Police Department, remains on non-disciplinary administrative leave until the investigation is complete. Richard Henke II of Beaver Dam was previously identified as the suspect who was wounded in the “lower extremities.” The 35-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police Chief John Kreuziger says they are providing for appropriate support for the officers involved and their families. The incident remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
