August Vehicle Sales

(Dodge County) Vehicle sales so far this year are outpacing last year’s numbers. According to the Waterloo-based industry tracking firm Reg Trak, there have been nearly 2500 car and light truck sales in Dodge County in the first eight months of the year, 94 more than last year by this time for an increase of 3.9-percent. Car sales in Dodge County were actually down 27-percent but truck sales were up by 12-percent. In Columbia County, year-to-date auto sales were up by just over a half-percent with 1800 vehicles rolling off dealer lots through the end of August. Car sales in Columbia County were down 14-percent while truck sales were up over 3-percent. Jefferson County dealers also sold over 1800 vehicles, which was around 24 more than last year by this time for an increase of around 1-percent. Car sales in Jefferson County were down by nearly 20-percent but truck sales were up by nearly 10-percent. For the nine-county, south Central Wisconsin Region, there were 31-thousand-200-hundred vehicles sold, 300 less than by this time last year, a 1-percent decrease. Truck sales in the region were up 7-percent while car sales decreased by 19-percent.
